Breast lift/ Breast tightening
Breasts lift also known as mastopexy. It restores the sagging breast and makes them firm.
A plastic surgeon can help a woman to restore back youthful breast contour by extracting excess, stretched out skin and reshaping the breast tissue and raising the nipples and areola in forward position. Larger nipple areola complex can be reduced during breast lift procedure giving a more proportional and natural look to the breasts.

Various types of Breast Lifts:
You will be explained different types of the techniques, their advantages and limitations during your consultations. The choice of the technique will be a joint decision between you and your surgeon following your consultation.
a) Peri-Areolar lift:
This type of lift usually is used to correct for mild sagging of breasts. This lift can be effective in reducing the size of areola.
b) Vertical lift
This type of lift normally helps to reshape the breasts having moderate sagging.
c) Inverted T lift
This type of lift is performed on women having a dramatic amount of sagging in their breasts. This type of procedure is used if a women wishes to have a breast reduction along with breast lift.
Many times, you may wish to improve the level of your breasts and wish them to be bigger in size. It can be achieved at the same time by combination of breast list and breast augmentation. This procedure is known as ‘augmented mastopexy’.
The breast lift surgery is carried out either under local anaesthetic with or without sedation or under general anaesthetic. It is generally done as a day case but it may require overnight stay. It takes approximately 1 to 2 hours to perform the procedure. All the sutures are dissolvable hence it doesn’t require removal. Your breasts will be supported with a sports bra for your comfort.
Care following your operation:
You will be advised to take antibiotics to prevent infection. You are provided with analgesics tablets to control pain. Your dressings will be changed within a week’s time. It is advisable not to perform any strenuous activities for first 2 to 6 weeks after a breast lift.
If you have ‘saggy’ breasts and you are unhappy with the appearance of your breasts then you should seek advice from a qualified consultant plastic surgeon.
We use dissolving sutures which does not require removal.
It depends on the type of work you do. You can start your computer based office work after 72 hours if approved by your surgeon.
We advise you to wear your sports bra for 4 to 6 weeks following the procedure.
The operation is done under anaesthesia hence you don’t feel any pain. You are provided with analgesic tablet to control pain when you are sent home. You may require to take tablets for pain control between 72 hours and 5 days.
